VG Chartz

Another interesting thing I have noticed on VG Chartz is all the records kept about the amount of game consoles that have been sold world wide on the front page. The Nintendo DS is currently top ranked at 67.9%. In close second is the Nintendo Wii at 45%. 3rd is the XBOX360 at 33.2%. With the at 4th place PS3 at 21.9%. There are tons more records on the site so I recommend you go check it out.

GTA IV breaks every previous record

grand-theft-auto-iv-20071128012032646-000.jpg

The title sold a record 609,000 copies on its first day of release, generating an estimated £24.4m.The previous record holder was GTA: San Andreas, which sold 501,000 copies in 24 hours in October 2004.The game is tipped to break the opening week sales figures of Microsoft’s Halo 3, and pull in up to £201m.
The game currently has an average review score of 99.1%, according to Gamerankings.com, which amalgamates reviews from all publications.

On the 5th of May VG Chartz.com, the most comprehensive video gaming charts in the world, announced that Rockstar sold roughly 6 million copies of Grand Theft Auto IV during the first 5 days after the game’s release. 4 million gamers purchased the game day one.The game generated an estimated revenue of $390 million, exceeding Halo 3´s $280 million launch week.

Once I have finished my work and meet my deadline for Monday the 12th of May I will seriously be looking into getting an xbox and this game. Players are also able to play online with 16 players in total. That is amazing. I would really love to play with my friends on this game interactively and be apart of all the hype that surrounds this game.

Grand Theft Auto IV also had a big affect on hardware sales: Playstation 3 sales nearly doubled compared to the week before, while Xbox 360 sales jumped roughly 70%. It is considered the most expensive game of all time, with estimated development costs of $100 million. The game is likely to hit the 10 million units sales mark though during the next months.

Video game developers, the bar has been raised!

Vista geral da Curve Brigde

This is the sky bridge in langkawi, Malaysia, a stunning cable-stayed
bridge suspended, 687 meters above sea level. The structure relies on an 87 meter high support column to hold the weight of the deck which is distributed through 8 load
balancing cables attached to its head.

Personally I would be hard pushed to walk across this unique feat of engineering but still find it fascinating and give credit to the brave souls that walk across it. I find elevators in the underground taxing so this is simply out of the question.

Martin Klimas

One of the cleanest photography sites I have seen and even more stunning photography. We have all seen those high speed images of bullets been shot though various bits of fruit etc but Klimas took this idea and turned it to his own. And it works. Really great series of photographs that you need to view straight away. Your eyes have been warned.

Table Football XXL

This is the largest football table in the world and was built by Amsterdam brewer Amstel for the European Champions League Finals. It is so big in fact that it can fit two entire soccer teams, thats 22 players! I think I could spend most of a day on one of these with 21 other friends! What an amazing day that would be!

Christophe Huet

An extremely talented French photo re-toucher. He has a long list of internationally renowned clients and has a really great web site. On the website you can also find out how he went about producing some of he’s amazing images. Reminds me very much of Taylor James and the retouching work they produce.

Jeep waterfall

This is crazy,it looks so good. Professor Steve Pevnick developed this system in the early 70’s and then in 1979 patented it. I t has been used been used all around the world for exhibitions and art pieces and is something I would really like to see in person myself.

Airpress

Airpress
This is the first sensible AIR application release that I have found so far and to be honest, it is quite simply amazing! Previously when AIR was news of the week I didn’t really get it or understand its importance. Being a very visual person I really need a live working example of the sorts of applications it could produce and here it is. Airpress is basically a small application that can be linked to your wordpress blog account on either a MAC or WIN. This then allows you to upload,change/edit previous blogs all from within your desktop. /www.airpress.org/ layout and design of airpress is pretty intuitive and works really well. I am in fact using it right now to produce this entry. I would definitely recommend Airpress to anyone with a wordpress account. here is a link for you to download it… AIRPRESS
